Urban Agriculture and Community Growing

2015/03/30 — 2015/05/30

A three day trip to a number of very different farming, growing and cooking initiatives across Rotterdam.

We focus on growers, gardens, trade and the social function of the urban gardening sites we visit. We will ask them to tell how they produce and trade with and within the city of Rotterdam. We will taste some of it and meet them in a guided tour. (All thanks to Caroline that has an amazing network in Rotterdam). We will learn a lot about the inter-connected urban farming and their specific relation to trade and the public.

Friday 24 April

Visit Villa Augustus in Dordrecht,
a very special place where gardening, restaurant, accommodation and cultural history come together. http://www.villa-augustus.nl/

Visit Stadslandbouw Schiebroek-Zuid.

With the food made by Stadslandbouw Schiebroek-Zuid we move to Wapke’s Studio in the South of Rotterdam. We eat and drink and will introduce some of the people involved (bring flyers, books and tell some stories).
