GfZK

The Foundation Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst (GfZK) is a German nationally leading and internationally acclaimed cultural foundation and museum of contemporary art with a long-term commitment to high-quality cultural production, inter-cultural exchange and inclusive education.

The Foundation was set up in 2000 in Leipzig (DE) to provide and excellent, innovative and participatory exhibition and mediation programmes for contemporary cultural production on local, regional, national and international level. It provides a locally grounded international exhibition and education programme for Leipzig and Saxony, but also for a national and international cultural audience. 

One of the foundations' objectives is to include a broad range of audiences in the wider discourse and knowledge production associated with contemporary art. This is achieved through a broad local outreach programmes alongside national exhibitions and trans-national cooperation projects.
